Our Lady holding Jesus as He accepts flowers from the shepherd child

Our Lady holding Jesus as He accepts flowers from the shepherd child

Welcome to our intercessory prayer ministry for families, babies, little ones and those who love them.

In our prayers for families, we pray for the sanctity of all life and for vocations to marriage, the priesthood and consecrated life, which are born and nurtured in families.

The
Prayer of Entrustment to Mary was prayed for this ministry at the icon of the Madonna Salus Populi Romani (Salvation of the Roman People, Our Lady of Good Health) in the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore (Basilica of Mary Major) in Rome, Italy, in Nossa Senhora do Rosario da Fatima (Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary) in Fatima, Portugal, in Eglise du Sacre-Coeur (Sacred Heart Parish Church), the site of St. Bernadette's baptismal font, in Lourdes, France and at The National Shrine of The Divine Mercy in Stockbridge, Massachusetts at the Shrine of the Holy Innocents before Our Lady of Guadalupe and at Basilica Papale de San Pietro in Vaticano (St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City) at the Tomb of St. John Paul II in Rome, Italy and at the Basílica de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe (Basilica of the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe) in Mexico City, Mexico.

This ministry is consecrated to Jesus Christ, Wisdom Incarnate, through the hands of Mary and dedicated to Our Lady of the Rosary. In our prayers to Mary, we honor and worship her Son Jesus. When He was on the Cross, He gave His Mother to John and she became our Mother as well. "Behold, your Mother." John 19:27

Reflection: Psalm 23...The Lord is my Shepherd

In this world, there is so much that can cause distress in the soul. Trusting in God is the key. When your heart and your soul ache. turn to Him. Only God can restore your soul. God is always there, in times of trouble, anxiety and distress. He is there when you fall and when you are hurt. God is always there. God will never leave you alone. He will come to help you. He will send people to help you. He will never leave you alone. Like a little child, reach out and hold His hand.

Simply cry out: "I need You, Jesus." Open up your heart and your mind to receive His love and peace.

The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want. In verdant pasture, He makes me lie down; to still waters, He leads me; He restores my soul. He guides me along right paths for the sake of His Name. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me, Your rod and Your staff comfort me. Psalm 23:1-4

Jesus, Comforter and Counselor, come with Your peace in times of trouble and in the midst of the storms. Jesus I trust in You and I need You.

Reflection: Jesus said to Mary of Magdala, "Stop holding onto Me..."

Woman, why are you weeping? John 20:13

But Mary stayed outside the tomb weeping. And as she wept, she bent over into the tomb and saw two angels in white sitting there, one at the head and one at the feet where the body of Jesus had been. And they said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping?" She said to them, "They have taken my Lord, and I don't know where they laid Him." When she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus there, but did not know it was Jesus. Jesus said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you looking for?" She thought it was the gardener and said to Him, "Sir, if you carried him away, tell me where you laid him, and I will take Him." Jesus said to her, "Mary!" She turned and said to Him in Hebrew, "Rabbouni," which means Teacher. Jesus said to her, "Stop holding on to Me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to My brothers and tell them, 'I am going to My Father and your Father, to My God and your God.'" Mary of Magdala went and announced to the disciples, "I have seen the Lord," and what He told her. John 20:11-18

Meditation:

Place yourself at the tomb. Mary is weeping and so are you. Suddenly, Jesus is standing there in your midst. At first, you do not recognize him. Then He calls you by name and you know it is Jesus. He is truly risen!  You embrace Him and He looks at you with great love and says, "Stop holding on to me...Go to My brothers and tell them"

Are you holding onto something you love but you know, in your heart, that you have to let go? Do you know how to let go?

We can only let go with God's grace.  He wants us to "die to self" and to let go of attachments to the world and to people. Once we let go, He will fill us with His love, peace and joy. Then He wants us to go and tell others about Him and His great love. Speak to Him now and ask Him to help you let go...

The promise is made to you and to your children, and to all those far off, whomever the Lord our God will call. Acts 2:39

Peter was filled with the Holy Spirit after Pentecost. This promise of the gift of the Holy Spirit is for you and your loved ones. He will fill you with His peace, grace and courage.

Jesus has risen from the dead!  Morning has broken.  Amen.  Alleluia!

Jesus is calling us to go and tell others about Him. We cannot hold onto Him or keep Him to ourselves. Jesus is commissioning us to go out and proclaim the Gospel. Turn to Our Blessed Mother Mary in prayer. She will bring them to her Beloved Son.

Reflection: From the crib to the Cross...

In the midst of Holy Week, we enter into the Sacred Triduum tomorrow, We entrust all the names we have received through this prayer ministry to Our Blessed Mother Mary and ask her to bring them to her Beloved Son Jesus, Our Lord and Savior.

On the joyous day of the Presentation when Joseph and Mary brought the Baby Jesus to the temple, she knew sorrow was to come through the words of Simeon. when he said to Mary,

"And you yourself a sword will pierce so that the thoughts of many hearts will be revealed." Luke 2:34-35

This Holy Week, we recall Mary, standing at the Foot of the Cross with Jesus's beloved disciple John:

"Standing by the Cross of Jesus were His Mother and His Mother's sister, Mary, the wife of Clopas and Mary of Magdala. When Jesus saw His Mother and the disciple whom He loved, He said to Hia Mother, 'Woman, behold, your son.' Then He said to the disciple, 'Behold, your Mother,' And from that hour, the disciple took her into his home."  John 19:25-27

Reflection: Gethsemane...

Jesus is the Lamb of God who was slain.

"Then I saw standing in the midst of the throne and the four living creatures and the elders, a Lamb, that seemed to have been slain.  He had seven horns and seven eyes; these are the seven spirits of God sent out into the whole world." Revelation 5:6

Jesus suffered the Agony of the Garden of Gethsemane, the Scourging at the Pillar, the Crowning of Thorns, the Carrying of the Cross and the Crucifixion. He was led forth like a lamb to be slaughtered.

Why did Jesus endure such suffering?

He did it for you and for me. He loves us so much, He endured every kind of unbearable suffering, torture and abandonment by His friends, Born of the Virgin Mary, the Lamb was seized from the flock and dragged off to be crucified on a Cross. He did it for us. He loves us so much! Jesus came for our salvation, to take away the sins of the world.

"I looked gain and heard the voices of many angels who surrounded the Throne and the living creatures and the elders. They were countless in number, and they cried out in a loud voice: 'Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches, wisdom and strength, honor and glory and blessings.'" Revelation 5:11-12

Have you ever wondered if God hears your prayers?

Revelation 5 reveals to us that prayer reaches the Throne of God. The Lord hears all our prayers. He sees and hears every cry of prayer throughout the whole world. God set us apart to be holy. The prayers of God's people rise up to the Throne of God and to the Lamb. Never give up praying for the living and the dead. Turn to Jesus continually. He will hear your prayers and He will always answer them in His own perfect timing.

"Lord, I call to Your; hasten to me; listen to my plea when I call. Let my prayer be incense before You; my uplifted hands an evening offering. Psalm 141:1-2

Jesus is the Lamb of God who was slain. Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world, have mercy on us.

Gethsemane...Jesus loves me!

Reflection: Mary will teach you how to pray...

The Blessed Virgin Mary is the Mother of God and she is our Mother. Mary teaches us how to pray as she taught the Child Jesus how to pray. As a little boy, she held His hand and guided Him. Mary wants to take you by the hand and guide you. Be still and reach out to her. Mary will take you into her heart,

When you receive the Eucharist, ask Mary to be with you, She will wrap her mantle around you and she will hold you close to her Immaculate Heart. She will teach you how to pray by pondering and keeping all things in your heart as she did. She will teach you how to listen in prayer and how to keep your eyes fixed on Jesus. She will teach you how to contemplate the mysteries of the Rosary. She will teach you how to reflect on the hidden life of Jesus, the sufferings of His Passion, the Triumph of His Resurrection and the Institution of the Eucharist. Mary will teach you how to listen and quiet your heart so you can hear God's Will for your life and how to do whatever He tells you to do. Above all, Mary will teach you how to love Jesus with all your heart, mind and soul. Draw close to Mary and she will draw you close to Jesus, her Beloved Son.

Go to Mary and ask her to bless you, take you by the hand and teach you how to pray...

Just as two friends, frequently in each other's company, tend to develop similar habits, so too, by holding familiar converse with Jesus and the Blessed Virgin, by meditating on the mysteries of the Rosary, and by living the same life in Holy Communion, we can become, to the extent of our lowliness, similar to them and can learn from these supreme models a of life of humility, poverty, patience and perfection. Blessed Bartolo Longo

After Holy Communion, close your eyes and recollect yourself. Then usher Jesus into the heart of Mary: you are giving Him to His Mother who will receive Him with great love and give Him the place of honor, adore Him profoundly, show Him perfect love, embrace Him intimately in spirit and in truth, and perform many offices for Him of which we, in our ignorance, would know nothing.  Or, maintain a profoundly humble heart in the presence of Jesus dwelling in Mary. Or be in attendance like a slave at the gate of the royal palace, where the King is speaking with the Queen. While they are talking to each other, with no need of you, go in spirit to heaven and to the whole world, and call upon all creatures to thank, adore and love Jesus and Mary for you. "Come, let us adore."  Saint Louis Marie de Montfort, True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin

Take my hand, Maria.

Reflection: And Jesus wept...

So the sisters Martha and Mary sent word about Lazarus to Jesus saying,  “Master, the one you love is ill.” When Jesus heard this He said, “This illness is not to end in death, but is for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified through it.”  John 11:3-4

Jesus was fully human and fully Divine. He loved his friends Martha, Mary and Lazarus. Martha spoke to Jesus from her heart when He arrived four days after Lazarus died. She asked Jesus why he did not come when Lazarus was ill. Jesus allowed His friend Lazarus to die so that he could be raised from the dead. Jesus performed this miracle so that people would come to believe. In this way, Jesus showed God's glory.

When Jesus arrived, He found that Lazarus had already been in the tomb for four days. When Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went to meet Him; but Mary sat at home. Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.  But even now I know that whatever you ask of God, God will give you.” Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise.” Martha said, “I know he will rise, in the resurrection on the last day.” Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life; whoever believes in Me, even if he dies, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?” She said to Him, “Yes, Lord. I have come to believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, the one who is coming into the world.” Jesus became perturbed and deeply troubled, and said, “Where have you laid him?” They said to Him, “Sir, come and see.”  John 11:17-34

And Jesus wept. John 11:35

Have you ever been sad or angry with Jesus when something bad happened?

Recall that situation now and talk to Jesus about how you felt. Express your sadness, anger, disappointment, hurts. As Martha did, ask Him where He was. Tell Him how you felt alone and abandoned. Enter into His Presence and allow Him to speak in the silence of your heart.

Jesus is your best friend. When something bad happens to us or our loved ones, Jesus is with us. Offer your suffering to Him. Jesus will use your suffering for God's Glory. Jesus will never leave you alone. He will send people to you to help you along the way. Turn to Him and trust in Him in all things. Jesus will never abandon you. He knows the pain of being abandoned by His friends and He knows the joy of true friendship. Jesus is with you always. When you suffer, Jesus weeps. He loves you so very much. He performs miracles in your midst.

Jesus gave His Blessed Mother Mary to accompany and intercede for you. She is your Mother and she always walks with you. She knows sorrow and suffering. She loves you and holds you under her beautiful mantle of protection and peace.

Turn to Jesus and Mary. They are your friends and you are their beloved child.

I have called you friends, because I have told you everything I have heard from My Father. John 15:15

Think of Mary. Call on Mary

“MARIAM COGITA, MARIAM INVOCA”  Think of Mary. Call on Mary.

Two centuries ago, Venerable Pio Bruno Lanteri (1759-1830) served the Church in the Piedmont region of Northern Italy. It was a turbulent era in secular society and there was an anti-Christian spirit of the French Revolution. Heresies obscured the truth of God’s love and undermined the authority of the Pope.

The young Lanteri met a Jesuit priest, Father Nikolaus von Diessbach. Under his guidance, Lanteri made the Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius and had a profound experience of the infinite mercy of God. He became an ardent witness to God’s mercy through intense and varied apostolates as a diocesan priest in Turin. He preached the Spiritual Exercises and popular missions, offered spiritual direction and confession, circulated Catholic books, supported lay and priestly associations, and provided real care for the needy. In all this, he was always careful to guide people “to the truth in love,” showing the utmost goodness to all and trying to help everyone to seek genuine holiness. Father Lanteri always pointed to fidelity to the Church and fidelity to Mary as the certain guiding lights along the path of the Christian life.

In 1814, three zealous priests came to Father Lanteri for guidance in forming a fraternity dedicated to preaching retreats and reviving the Church in the wake of the spiritual ravages of the French Revolution and the Napoleonic era. Father Lanteri entrusted the group to the Virgin Mary, whom he always called their Foundress and teacher. Despite some initial setbacks, the Oblates of the Virgin Mary were approved by Pope Leo XII on September 1, 1826. Father Lanteri died four years later August 5, 1830.

The Oblates of the Virgin Mary quickly expanded throughout Italy and into France and Austria. Following the missionary spirit of the Founder, the Oblates eventually established foreign missions in Brazil and Argentina, Nigeria and the Philippines. After a surge in the number of vocations from North America in the 1970′s, the Oblates came to the United States and Canada. They established the community in Boston on September 12, 1976, and opened the doors to Our Lady of Grace Seminary two years later. The U.S. Province has foundations today in Massachusetts, Illinois, California, and Colorado.  Excerpts taken from the writings of the Mission of the Oblates of the Virgin Mary

As we pray for these intentions, let us always "Think of Mary and Call on Mary" to intercede for us on their behalf.
