As Jesus passed by, two blind men followed him, crying out, "Jesus, Son of David, have pity on us." He said to them, "Do you think that I can do this?" The blind men said, "Yes, Lord." Matthew 9:27-28
Jesus touched their eyes and praised their faith. With the touch of His hand, their eyes were opened and Jesus healed them. He loves it when we come to Him in faith. Jesus then warned the two blind men not to tell anyone what He had done. The two men left and told everyone they met.
I have often wondered why Jesus told them sternly not to tell anyone what He had done for them. Jesus performs many miracles in order to increase faith. At Mass this morning, my pastor explained why Jesus said that to them. Jesus wants each one of us to have a personal encounter with Him. He wants to touch our hearts in an intimate way. That is why He did not want them to tell others that he healed their eyes. Jesus wanted to meet them personally.
We are changed forever after every encounter with Jesus.
Jesus is calling YOU to an intimate encounter. Are you blind or are you open to see Him?
Go to Eucharistic Adoration . Jesus is waiting for you there. He will open your eyes and He will enter your heart. Come away and be still...
"Come away by yourself to a secluded place and rest awhile." Mark 6:31
