Palm Sunday! Hosanna in the Highest!

Palm Sunday commemorates the triumphal entrance of Christ into Jerusalem, when palm branches were placed in His path, before His arrest on Holy Thursday, His Crucifixion on Good Friday and His Resurrection on Easter Sunday.

Beginning in the fourth century in Jerusalem, Palm Sunday was marked by a procession of the faithful carrying palm branches, representing the Jews who celebrated Christ's entrance into Jerusalem.

At the procession of palms, Jesus said: "Go into the village opposite you,, and as you enter it, you will find a colt tethered on which no one has ever sat. Untie it and bring it here. And if anyone should ask you, 'What are you untying it?', you will answer, 'The Master has need of it.'" Luke 19:30-31

Jesus enters gloriously into Jerusalem to do His Father's Will.

So they brought it to Jesus, threw their cloaks over the colt, and helped Jesus to mount. As He rode along, the people were spreading their cloaks on the road; and now as He was approaching the slope of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of His disciples began to praise God aloud with joy for all the mighty deeds they had seen. They proclaimed: "Blessed is the King who comes in the Name of the Lord. Peace in heaven and glory in the highest."  Luke 19:35-38

O Jesus, meek and humble of heart, help us enter into Holy Week, watching, listening and keeping our eyes on You as You carry the Cross.  We lift up to You all the petitions we receive through this ministry.
