Reflection: "Quiet! Be still!"

Jesus was in the boat with the disciples when a violent storm rose up. The boat was filling up with water and Jesus was asleep. The disciples were terrified and woke Him up.

Have you ever felt that everything in your life was crashing in all around you like being in boat in the midst of a storm?

Jesus woke up, rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, "Quiet! Be still!" The wind ceased and there was a great calm. Mark 4:39

Ponder the words, "The wind ceased and there was a great calm." The disciples were in awe and wondered who Jesus is that even the wind and the sea obey Him.

Have you ever been in a situation where you felt frightened, alone, terrified and without hope?

Out of the depths, I call to You, Lord; Lord, hear my cry! May Your ears be attentive to my cry for
mercy! Psalm 130:1-2

When storms arise in your life, call upon Jesus and tell Him what you are afraid of. Out of the depths of your heart, cry out to Him. Rebuke your fears. Allow Jesus to touch you and heal you. Trust in Jesus and He will bring a great calm upon you. Jesus will give you hope.

Sit with Jesus and recall that situation in your life. As the memories come into your mind, notice the feelings that rise up in you and speak to Him about what you are experiencing. Cry out to Him and express your fear and hopelessness.

Cast your care upon the Lord who will give you support.  Psalm 55:23

Jesus is your friend and He will calm you. He wants to be with you intimately. Sit in His Presence and open your heart to Him. Every time you have an encounter with Jesus, you are changed. He is calling you to come to Him...

Be still and know that I am God.  Psalm 46:10

Jesus is your hope, your strength and your comforter.
