Jesus desires friendship with you. You did not choose Him. He chose you to go and bear fruit that will remain..
"I have told you this so that my joy might be in you and your joy might be complete. This is my commandment: love one another as I love you. No one has greater love than this, to lay down one's life for one's friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you. I no longer call you slaves, because a slave does not know what his master is doing. I have called you friends, because I have told you everything I have heard from my Father. It was not you who chose me, but I who chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit that will remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name he may give you. This I command you: love one another." John 15:9-17
Jesus teaches us how to be His friend, There is no greater love than to lay down your life for a friend.
Do you have a close intimate friendship? It is a gift from God. When you have this beautiful gift, you cherish and nurture this friendship by spending time together.
Jesus is your friend. He desires to have a close intimate friendship with you. He gave you the way to this friendship to love one another and to do what He commands. Our Lady gave us this way when she said to the servants at the Wedding at Cana, "Do whatever He tells you." John 2:5
How can you nurture your friendship with Jesus? Spend time every day in prayer. Find a quiet place in your home, visit a chapel where Jesus is present in the tabernacle and visit Jesus in Eucharistic Adoration where He is Present on the altar, Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity.
Jesus said to his disciples: "As the Father loves me, so I also love you. Remain in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and remain in his love."
O Jesus, You are our friend. Help us to imitate You by staying close to Mary, our Blessed Mother. Heal our hearts and bring healing, peace and comfort to all those for whom we pray.
